![]() Dog team: Alone with a dog team of 5 or 6 dogs. Two persons per sled with a dog team of 6 dogs (short tours). Supervision: experimented professional mushers guides (eco-tourism school or adventure tourism). First aid certified. Equipment provided: we provide material in very good condition, almost new: sled with a large watertight bag to transport the material during the raids, draught line, dog harness with names, snow anchor and list of the dogs in your team. You can also rent boots and extreme low temperature clothing on the premises ($65/week) together with the sleeping bag -30° ($25/week). If you forgot some small things, we have some of those articles at the boutique... Equipment to bring for the raids:
Lodging: In a comfortable Inn, depending of the package chosen for the days before/after. (www.auberge-quebec.ca) In a rustic cottage, wood heated stove, propane lamp, bordering a lake or river giving access to water, dry toilet outside. (www.sepaq.com réserve Papineau-Labelle) Weather: To get the actual temperature and forecast: www.theweathernetwork.com Mont-Laurier and Wenmindji for Baie James. Number of participants: minimum of 2 persons for all tours of dog sledding. Maximum of 6 persons for the raids/ 1 person per sled (3 , 4 and 5 days). Maximum of 20 persons, two persons per sled, for short tours. Meal: table d'hôte menu, 4 services, at the inn. On tour, BBQ ( grilled meat) at lunch and prepared meals, at night. Period: As soon as the snow start to fall, our short tours start. For the long tours, the departure date is set every sunday, starting from December 20 2008 until March 30 2009, last departure. Depending of the planification of our reservations, we try to be flexible and will make our best to accommodate your schedule. For the expedition at Baie James, one date only: departure from Mont-Laurier monday March 31 and return friday April 11. |
